We would like to thank all our supporters, clients, ambassadors, staff members and trustees who ran the Santa Run for us this year! Despite the grey skies and drizzle, there was enough festive cheer at Victoria Park to last until next Christmas! Santa and his elves were in his grotto, offering sleigh rides to all who came. Children were dressed up in amazing costumes, with one from our group winning first prize for her homemade snow globe outfit!
The children were the first to do their snow dash (the snow machine made it look like authentic Lapland!) and the 2000 adults followed, dressed in an array of Santa, snowman, elf and reindeer costumes. Several runners also had their dogs in tow, dressed of course in matching Santa outfits! Our very own Dani, from our fundraising team, flew like a reindeer and was one of the first to cross the line in the 5km race!
All our runners did brilliantly and we are so grateful for the £2,500 they have raised so far which we will use to provide Self-Development Workshops to women to help them cope with the practical, psychological and emotional repercussions of domestic abuse.
So, now that the Santa run is wrapped up for the year, who is ready for the Super Hero run in May 2018?!
Thanks again to all! We could not continue to support women to recover from their experiences without the generous and warm support of all who take part in events for us!
