Advocacy Service (24hrs)

The service is currently funded for women who are residents in the Borough of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Residents from other boroughs will be referred to local services.

Domestic Violence is a crime and you do not have to deal with this alone.

We can help you by offering:

  • Emotional support
  • Safety planning
  • Information on domestic violence, your rights and options
  • Information and advice on legal options
  • Liaison with Police and Crown Prosecution services
  • Accompanying you to court with support throughout
  • Helping with obtaining injunctions/DIY injunctions
  • DIY injunctions
  • Referral to emotional support and counselling services if required
  • Access to emergency housing 
  • Referral to outreach services
  • Referral to community specific support
  • Access to interpreting services

The service has been set up to:

  • Improve accessibility to the Criminal Justice System for women who choose to take this course of action
  • Improve safety for women and children affected by domestic violence
  • Ensure that women are aware of and/or referred to the range of services that are available to them
  • Increase offenders' accountability for their actions 
  • Strengthen and raise awareness that domestic violence is a crime and will not be tolerated
  • Listen to women and support them in making their own decisions and re-building their lives and those of their children
