Since 1st July 2011 Woman’s Trust is no longer provider of the IDVA (Advocacy ) services in Westminster & Kensington and Chelsea. The new contract was awarded by the Local authorities Westminster and RBKC to Advocacy and Non-Violence Community Education (Advance).

Woman’s Trust IDVA service will continue to support existing cases and will still accept new referrals until the 30th June 2011. All new clients and clients whose cases were open during the handover period have been informed of the change and tranferred on to the new provider.

Advance has taken over the existing 24 hour helpline number 07747 080 964 and is available during office hours under the numbers 07432 700 285 and 07432 700 286.

Woman’s Trust will be able to continue the support of clients who are going through the civil or criminal court by our Court IDVA in Westminster and RBKC. Funding to provide this service has been secured for the next three years from the Ministry of Justice. This service will ensure that clients are informed and supported through the court procedures, including pre-trial visits and ensuring special arrangements are offered.

Woman’s Trust also continues to offer counselling services, offering up to 18 weeks of counselling as well as workshops to clients affected by Domestic Violence in East London as well as West London.

Woman’s Trust is proud of all that we have achieved in improving the response to Domestic Violence in Westminster and RBKC over the last 5 years, including the provision of high-quality advocacy support to over 3500 clients at-risk, helping the establishment of the MARAC’s and engaging with many stakeholders and partner organisations. We would like to take the opportunity to thank our partners for their great support over the last years. It has been a pleasure working with them and we hope we can continue to strengthen these relationships in regard to our continuing support services.
